Auto Contract Sync

How to Enable Auto Contract Sync in Easy Subscriptions #

The Auto Contract Sync feature in Easy Subscriptions ensures that subscription behavior is automatically updated based on product inventory status. When a product in a subscription goes out of stock or comes back in stock, the subscription can automatically pause, cancel, or resume — helping you maintain inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction without manual effort.

Why Use Auto Contract Sync? #

Enabling this feature helps:

  • Automatically manage out-of-stock subscription products

  • Prevent failed fulfillment or customer complaints

  • Reduce manual intervention for inventory-based subscriptions

  • Improve operational efficiency and subscriber experience

Step-by-Step Instructions #

Step 1: Access Easy Subscriptions Settings #

  1. Go to your Shopify Admin Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Apps > Easy Subscriptions > Settings.

Step 2: Open the Auto Contract Sync Section #

  1. In the Easy Subscriptions Settings menu (left sidebar), click on Auto Contract Sync.

Step 3: Enable Auto Contract Sync #

  1. Toggle the “Auto update subscription contract status” setting to On.

This activates automatic syncing based on product inventory changes.

Step 4: Define Action for Out-of-Stock Products #

  1. Choose what should happen when a product in an active subscription becomes out of stock:

    • Pause the Subscription Contract

    • Cancel the Subscription Contract

Select the option that best suits your inventory policy and customer expectations.

Step 5: Set Behavior for Back-in-Stock Products #

  1. To automatically resume subscriptions when products are restocked:

    • Check the box for “Resume the subscription automatically when the product is restocked.”

This ensures that subscriptions resume without manual review when stock is replenished.

That’s It! #

You’ve successfully configured Auto Contract Sync in Easy Subscriptions. Your app will now automatically handle changes in product availability by pausing, canceling, or resuming subscriptions accordingly.
