How to Add the Bundle Widget to Your Shopify Store
4 min readIntroduction
Subscription Bundle Integration lets merchants offer multiple products together as a single bundled purchase. This supports both Custom Bundles and Fixed Bundles, letting customers subscribe to grouped products in one order instead of managing several separate subscriptions. The bundle widget displays on eligible product pages once it’s been added through the theme editor.
Why It Matters
Subscription Bundles simplify purchasing for customers who regularly buy multiple related products together. This supports more structured ordering, improves subscription adoption by making it easy to commit to a group of products at once, and reduces the effort of managing separate subscriptions for items that are typically bought together.
How to Integrate the Subscription Bundle Widget
Step 1: Access the Theme Editor
- Log in to the Shopify admin.
- Navigate to Online Store.
- Locate the active theme and click Edit theme.
Step 2: Select the Product Page Template
- In the theme editor, use the page selector at the top center.
- Select the Product Page template where the bundle widget should appear.
Step 3: Open the Product Information Section
- On the left panel, locate the Product Information section.
Step 4: Add the Bundle App Block
- Click Add block within the Product Information section.
- Switch to the Apps tab.
- Select Easy Subscription Bundle from the list.
Step 5: Review and Save
- Confirm the bundle options are visible on the product page.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Bundle Types Supported
- Custom Bundle → Customers can select specific products to include in the bundle themselves.
- Fixed Bundle → Products are pre-defined by the merchant and cannot be modified by the customer.
Best Practice
- Integrate the bundle widget only on products actually intended for bundled subscriptions, rather than adding it broadly.
- Review the storefront after saving to confirm the widget’s placement and visibility look correct before customers see it.
Note
If your Shopify theme does not support Online Store 2.0, app blocks cannot be added through the theme editor. In that case, contact support at support@easysubscription.io to request manual widget integration.
Frequently Asked Questions
A Custom Bundle lets the customer choose which products go into the bundle. A Fixed Bundle has products pre-set by the merchant, and the customer cannot change what’s included.
No. It requires an Online Store 2.0 compatible theme that supports app blocks, the same requirement as the Subscription Widget and Quantity Breaker Widget.
Yes. Bundle type is set per bundle, so you can offer Custom Bundles on some products and Fixed Bundles on others.
Confirm the Easy Subscription Bundle app block was added to that page’s template through the theme editor, and that your theme supports Online Store 2.0.
Use a Fixed Bundle when you want full control over which products ship together, such as a curated set. Use a Custom Bundle when you want customers to build their own combination from eligible products.
