How to Create a Fixed Bundle
5 min readIntroduction
Fixed Bundle lets merchants create bundles with preset products and, when the bundle has no variants, a fixed price that customers cannot modify. This gives merchants full control over product selection and pricing for curated bundle offerings, useful for selling a predefined product set without allowing customer customization.
Why It Matters
Fixed Bundles help merchants:
- Maintain full control over bundle composition
- Offer consistent pricing for grouped products
- Simplify inventory and fulfillment planning
- Present clear, predefined purchase options to customers
This reduces complexity while keeping order management predictable, since the bundle’s contents and pricing behavior are locked in at creation.
How to Create a Fixed Bundle
Step 1: Access the Feature
- Log in to the Shopify admin portal.
- Navigate to Apps and open Easy Subscriptions.
- Select Features.
- Click Bundle.
- Choose Fixed Bundle.
Step 2: Name the Bundle and Add Products
- Enter the Bundle Name.
- Under Bundle Products, select the items offered together at one set price.
Add products carefully, since customers cannot modify a Fixed Bundle’s contents once purchased.
Step 3: Set Inventory Tracking
Under Inventory Quantities, choose which location tracks stock for the bundle:
- Shop location → The default tracking location.
- Select location → Choose a specific location if inventory should be tracked elsewhere.
Step 4: Set the Bundle Price
Under Bundle Price, enter the Price customers pay for the bundle. This applies when the bundle does not contain variants. If the bundle does include variants, pricing behaves differently; confirm with support how pricing is calculated for a bundle with variants before publishing one.
Step 5: Configure Optional Settings
- Bundle Tags (optional) → Add comma separated tags to help organize and identify the bundle internally.
- Shipping Profiles → Select a shipping profile for the bundle, such as the General profile or another configured profile.
Step 6: Configure Bundle Settings
Two additional toggles control how the bundle behaves after publishing:
- Mark bundles as sold out when bundled items are sold out or low inventory → Automatically reflects component stock issues at the bundle level, so customers don’t purchase a bundle that can’t actually be fulfilled.
- Sync bundle updates with existing subscriptions → Controls whether future edits to this bundle, such as changing products or pricing, apply to customers already subscribed to it, or only to new customers going forward.
Step 7: Review and Save
Review the bundle’s products, pricing, shipping, and settings, then save.
Best Practice
- Add products carefully, since customers cannot modify a Fixed Bundle’s contents after the fact.
- Review pricing and shipping settings before publishing, particularly if the bundle includes variants.
- Use Bundle Tags for internal organization and reporting.
- Confirm product availability across your chosen inventory location to avoid fulfillment issues.
- Decide deliberately whether Sync Bundle Updates With Existing Subscriptions should be on or off before making any changes to a live bundle, since this determines whether existing subscribers are affected by your edit.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the Sync Bundle Updates With Existing Subscriptions setting. If enabled, your edit applies to existing subscribers as well as new customers. If disabled, existing subscribers keep the bundle as it was when they subscribed, and your edit only affects new purchases.
Only if you’ve enabled Mark Bundles as Sold Out When Bundled Items Are Sold Out or Low Inventory. With this on, the bundle reflects component stock issues automatically rather than remaining purchasable when it can’t be fulfilled.
No. Once products are added, customers cannot change the bundle’s contents. If you need customer selectable contents, a Custom Bundle is the appropriate feature instead.
The Bundle Price field applies when the bundle does not contain variants. Pricing works differently when variants are involved; confirm with support how pricing is calculated in that case before publishing a bundle with variants.
Yes. Under Inventory Quantities, choose Select Location instead of the default Shop Location to track stock elsewhere.
The setting is available and defaults to a General profile if you don’t choose a specific one. Confirm your chosen profile matches how the bundle should actually ship before publishing.
