Enabling customer login functionality is essential for providing a personalized and seamless experience to your subscribers. With Easy Subscription, customers can log in to manage their recurring orders, view subscription details, and update account settings. Easy Subscription leverages Shopify’s native customer account system to ensure a secure and smooth login process.
Using Customer Login with Easy Subscription #
Easy Subscription seamlessly integrates with Shopify’s native customer account login functionality. Customers can create an account before or after purchasing their subscription. To ensure their subscription appears in the dashboard, customers must use the same email address they used during checkout.
Shopify’s Customer Account Models #
Currently, Shopify supports third-party app content like Easy Subscription only within the Classic Customer Accounts. If your store is using the new customer account experience, subscription content may not be visible. To ensure full access to subscription features, merchants should enable classic customer accounts.

Important Note #
All login functionality, account creation, and password reset flows are securely managed by Shopify. This ensures reliability and data protection for both merchants and customers.
How to Enable Classic Customer Accounts #
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Customer accounts.
- In the “Accounts in online store and checkout” section, click Edit.
- Select “Show login link in the header of online store and at checkout.”
- Under “Choose which version of customer accounts to use”, select Classic customer accounts.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Password Reset Functionality #
Customers can reset their password directly from the login page. Passwords must be 5–40 characters long and may include special characters. Merchants can also send a reset link manually:
- Go to Customers in the Shopify admin.
- Select the customer name.
- Click More actions → Reset password.

Customers can log in using the email associated with their subscription. Once logged in, they can manage their recurring orders, pause or skip deliveries, and update account information through the subscription portal.
They can reset their password directly from the login page. Merchants can also send a reset link from the Customers section in the Shopify admin panel.
Ensure that the customer is logging in with the same email used during the subscription checkout. Also, confirm that your store is using Classic Customer Accounts, as Easy Subscription is not currently supported in Shopify’s new account model.
