5 min read

To access analytics in Easy Subscriptions, go to Shopify Admin, then Apps, then Easy Subscriptions, then select Analytics from the submenu. The core dashboard covers three tabs: Overview for revenue and order metrics, Cancellations for churn and retention data, and Inventory Planning for forecasting stock needs based on upcoming renewals. Merchants who need deeper reporting can click Advanced Analytics to access additional sections covering subscribers, payments and dunning, upsells, subscription readiness, fulfillment, merchant health, and an AI subscription audit.

Where to Find Analytics

  1. Go to your Shopify admin dashboard.
  2. In the left hand menu under Apps, click Easy Subscriptions.
  3. Select Analytics from the submenu.

This opens the Analytics Dashboard, which is organized into three core tabs: Overview, Cancellations, and Inventory Planning.

Analytics Tab Breakdown and Insights

1. Overview Tab

Provides a snapshot of revenue performance, order trends, and customer insights.

  • Gross Revenue → Total income generated from subscriptions. Helps track business growth and revenue trends over time.
  • New Revenue → Income from new subscribers during the selected date range. Useful for measuring the success of recent campaigns or promotions.
  • Recurring Revenue → Ongoing revenue from existing subscribers. A core metric for forecasting income and the sustainability of your subscription model.
  • Orders → Total number of subscription orders processed. Indicates volume and engagement.
  • Average Revenue → Gross revenue divided by total orders. Helps assess customer lifetime value and pricing effectiveness.

Results can be filtered by the last 30, 60, or 90 days, or a custom range, for trend comparisons.

2. Cancellations Tab

Tracks customer cancellations and attempts, giving you a view into churn behavior.

  • Cancellation Attempts → Number of times customers initiated a cancellation process. An early warning signal for dissatisfaction or pricing issues.
  • Canceled → Number of completed subscription cancellations. A key churn indicator.
  • Skipped → Customers who chose to skip an order instead of canceling. An opportunity to keep them engaged and reduce churn.
  • Claimed Offer → Number of customers who accepted a retention offer, such as a discount. Measures the success of your retention strategy.
  • Cancellations by Reason → A bar graph showing categorized reasons for cancellation, such as cost or shipping delays. Directly informs retention strategy and product or service improvements.

3. Inventory Planning Tab

Available if enabled. Helps forecast product demand based on upcoming subscription renewals, which assists with restocking decisions and helps avoid under supply or over supply issues.
