How to Set Up a Quantity Break Bundle

Introduction

Bundle Quantity Break lets merchants offer quantity based pricing tiers, grouping multiple units of the same product together with discounts that scale as quantity increases, such as 20% off for 2 units and 30% off for 3. Unlike a purely one-time bulk discount, this feature can also apply to subscription purchases, letting customers get tiered pricing whether they buy once or subscribe.

Why It Matters

Quantity based bundles give customers a clear incentive to buy more at once, while giving merchants control over discount levels and which products are eligible. Supporting both one-time and subscription purchase types on the same tiered pricing structure means merchants don’t need separate configurations for bulk buyers versus subscribers.

How to Set Up a Bundle Quantity Break

Step 1: Access the Feature

1. Log in to the Shopify admin portal.
2. Open the Easy Subscriptions app.
3. Click Features.
4. Select Bundle Quantity Break.

Step 2: Create a Bundle Quantity Break

1. Click Create Bundle Quantity Break.
2. Enter the Offer Name.
3. Choose the Purchase Type: One-time purchase, Subscription, or Both.
4. Under Apply Offer On, choose All Products or Specific Products.

Step 3: Configure Tier 1

1. Define the quantity for Tier 1.
2. Select a Discount Type:
   • No Discount
   • Percentage Discount
   • Amount Off
3. Enter the discount value, if applicable.
4. Add an offer title for the tier, shown to customers on the widget, such as “20% OFF.”

Step 4: Add Additional Tiers (Optional)

1. Click Add Tier.
2. Repeat the quantity and discount configuration for each additional tier.
3. Adjust tiers based on your pricing strategy, for example escalating discounts at higher quantities.

Step 5: Customize the Widget’s Layout

Under Layout, adjust how the widget displays:

• Tier border radius → None (0px), Small (4px), Medium (6px), Default (10px), Large (14px), or Extra Large (20px).
• Font size → Adjusts the main text size within the widget.
• Badge font size → Adjusts the size of the discount badge text.
• Enable or disable discount badge → Toggles whether a discount badge displays on each tier.
• Show subscription frequencies in this widget → When enabled, customers can select their delivery frequency directly inside the quantity break widget itself, without needing a separate subscription widget added to the page.

Step 6: Customize the Widget’s Colors

Under Colors, set:

• Primary text color
• Secondary text color
• Badge background
• Badge text color
• Tier background
• Hover background
• Tier border color
• Hover border color

Step 7: Review and Save

1. Use the live preview to check how your tiers, layout, and colors will appear to customers.
2. Review all tiers and discount settings.
3. Save the Bundle Quantity Break configuration.

Best Practice

• Decide whether the bundle applies to all products or a specific product before creating it, since this affects Step 2’s Apply Offer On setting.
• Confirm discount type and value carefully at setup to avoid pricing conflicts with other active discounts.
• Enable Show Subscription Frequencies in This Widget if you want a single widget to handle both quantity selection and delivery frequency, rather than stacking it with a separate subscription widget.
• Keep tier quantities and titles clear and easy to understand at a glance, since customers will be comparing tiers directly in the widget.
• Use the live preview to check contrast and readability after customizing colors, particularly for the discount badge against its background.
