The Fallback Product feature in the Easy Subscriptions app ensures continuity for recurring subscription orders on Shopify. If a customer doesn’t choose a replacement product, a designated fallback item will automatically be sent to maintain the subscription experience.
How Fallback Products Work
Merchants can assign a fallback product within their Easy Subscriptions dashboard. When no new product is selected by the customer, the fallback product is automatically added to the next subscription order.
What Happens if You Don’t Configure It?
If no fallback product is configured, the previous product will be re-shipped. This may lead to customer dissatisfaction or confusion if they were expecting a new product or had intended to make changes.
How to Configure Fallback Product
- Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.
- Open the Easy Subscriptions app.
- Navigate to the subscription plan you want to modify.
- Find the “Fallback Product” setting within the plan details.
- Select your fallback product.
- Save the configuration.
