Introduction #
The Subscription Widget allows merchants to present subscription purchase options on eligible products.
The widget appears only on products configured for subscriptions and must be added to the Shopify theme to function correctly.
Why It Matters #
Adding the Subscription Widget to the product page enables customers to select subscription options during purchase.
Without proper integration, subscription-eligible products will not display recurring purchase options.
How to Integrate the Subscription Widget #
1. Access the Theme Editor #
- Log in to the Shopify admin dashboard
- Navigate to Online Store
- Locate the live theme
- Click Edit on the live theme
2. Select the Product Template #
- Open the page selector from the top middle of the theme editor
- Select the product page template where the widget should appear
3. Add the Subscription Widget Block #
- Locate the Product Information section on the left panel
- Click to expand the section
- Select Add block
- Switch to the Apps tab
- Add Easy Subscription Widget
4. Configure and Save #
- Position the widget as required on the product page
- Review the widget settings based on business requirements
- Click Save to apply the changes
Important Notes #
- The Subscription Widget is supported only on Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes
- If the theme does not support app blocks, the widget cannot be added manually
- For non-2.0 themes, contact support@easysubscription.io for manual widget integration support
Best Practice #
- Review the widget placement to ensure visibility near product pricing
- Test the product page to confirm subscription options appear only on eligible products
- Save and preview changes before publishing updates to the live store
